Some good days

This past friday was the Jazz Dinner. It was AMAZING! Food was good, bands were good, and I moved the earth with a time shattering conga solo.

Saturday: Don't even get me started. Most fun EVVAARRRR!! Prom with the beautiful Brittany Ferrari, danced with her and the group (alla, beka, colin boggs, dustin, and the gang) only hung around the band kids for a few minutes. That was a good idea for the most part because, while they are fun, they all have their group and stayed with each other the whole time. I'm a natural party man and as such I gotta work the whole room. I was with the group, then with them for a little bit, talked to my man Moffett for a few, danced and got danced on with/by Kara and got to know Myra Wright as a result of her hangin with kara (she's an acquaintance I had but was never really friends with) all in all it was a good prom. I felt the DJ could've been better by just playing the full song but that's neither here nor there. Afterprom was surprisingly fun. Since not a lot of people went it wasn't super crowded and there was a lot to do. Danced some more and did some other good stuff. Made a new-ish (again, another that I knew but never really was friends with for the only reason being never having the opportunity of talking to them) miss Cami Miller. Fantastic night with even greater people.

Sunday was recoup day. Chilled. It was truly a day of rest.

Monday: Concert went fairly well. A few minor hiccups but nothing tragic during the performance. Jazz killed it once again with miss Kitty Shaw on vocals and yours truly on the congas during City. At the awards presentation murph messed me up like twice because he first had me in the wrong order then called my name before someone else's. Which didn't really offend me because it was kinda funny, plus I got to talk to Schatz for a few minutes and joke around about it. Then senior awards came. First on the list was the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. I was kind of expecting to get it but hearing my name called for it just filled me with pure energy and amazement. I almost cried when Schatz shook my hand and said thanks for the last four years but I held it all together. A few more awards were called and I thought I was done going up on stage for the evening. However that would change when Murph got to the Patrick S. Gilmore award and he surprisingly called my name. So two awards in one night. Most triumphant indeed.

Closing statements: This weekend was pretty boss, I had the best date at the prom, I'm not that bad of a dancer, I maaaaayyyy reopen the whole kara thing (not likely), I might begin a slight flirtation with Cami (kind of likely), and I finally got to see what genuinely good days are like and I plan on having more (extremely likely).

hmm

Dreams are odd. I've heard that they're windows into the subconscious but honestly they're just oddities. The human brain, to be honest, is really the strangest thing. I've had dreams lately about two of my past crushes. One was Kara and the other was Arika Girts. Now the kara one was easy to simply brush off. But Arika has now been in two dreams. Last night's was the weirdest.

I dreamed I was in the south auditorium and a few friends of mine were singing Slow Down by Reel Big Fish (not a one of them was involved with music in reality) and Arika was getting ready to leave and even though I didn't want her to go I accepted and gave her a hug and she started to leave. I then picked her up (she was very light by the way. Still not sure how I could judge weight in a dream but whatever. Anyway I carried her out of the auditorium and I woke up...sort of...

I was awake enough to know I was facedown and laying with my arms between the bed and my stomach, yet I wasn't awake awake. Like I could think but I couldn't move anything. It felt like my whole body was asleep in the sense that someone's leg falls asleep from lack of circulation. I had to force my whole body to move before I could even open my eyes. Worried? Yes I was a little bit. However I'm pretty sure it was just another dream that I didn't realize was a dream (why i couldn't move anything) and my forcing of my body to move was simply me waking up and my body reacting to it. Whatever it was it was weeeiiiirrrdddd.

That's all folks. This week is Battle of the Bands and AP Macroeconomics. Next week is prom. Snoogans.

Time for resolution.

If you haven't guessed I've been pretty bi-polar in these last ...every blog post I've ever had. To be perfectly honest I'm thinking that what's got me so angry is less of everyone else and more of just me. This year I've turned into the type of person that I despise. I've talked about some of my best friends 'behind their back' and have been kind of cold to quite a few people. After all, getting so fired up over a stupid little talent show is pretty lame. So it's time to resolve some issues and confess a few things to a few people that are going to be extremely difficult to say. So keep me in your thoughts, or if you're religious then pray for me. I'm going to need a good bit of help in this regard. For the record I'm not telling anyone off or anything like that so I should be fine. For once in a looong time I'm actually aiming at securing and fixing a few friendships instead of saying 'maybe it's time I broke a few friendships off.' Weirdest thing is that it took Murph to kind of inspire me because he stated "I don't want the seniors ending the year as enemies" in regards to a small bit of drama over a percussion vamp for the revue before the indoor performance (which we're not doing. so make that the third thing to fail for me in this revue). So, things to do NOW

Reconcile and cure my conscience
Two days of Revue with Wind Ensemble contest on saturday
AP Weeks
SMASH Battle of the Bands
Get prom tickets
Find a job? (hopefully. I need teh cash monies)
Go to prom with the best person ever who totally brightened up my day with Elvis music
Graduate.

A bunch of lazy morons

is the definition of my fellow seniors. Every year we have a senior skit for the Revue. It's one of the favorite acts (well it used to be. It got kinda suckish last year). However this year there currently isn't one. I was talking to Katie today and asked what the senior skit was going to be, assuming that it was done and ready for the Revue NEXT THURSDAY and that I had just been left out of the loop as the band kids usually are with these kinds of things, and she literally said, "Well, we left a spot open in the revue for it, but it hasn't been made yet."

Really? REALLY? Hasn't been made yet! The revue's in seven days! The act is literally expected out of every revue and it didn't occur to those stuck up little sons of bitches we call a student council to think up a fricking senior skit? They put the time slot in! That's what doesn't make sense! I can understand if they had just decided not to do it because they might've been bogged down with other acts in the show but to put a time slot in for it and not ask a single person to do it is RIDICULOUS AT BEST!!! So I decided to try and put one together. With Joseph at my right hand side and my loyal people (the ones that actually HAVE work ethic both in and out of band including Cindy Himes and Matt Kendall) backin me up. Maybe we can pull this off...maybe. All I know is that if this is successful, Joseph and I, (narcissism in 3..2..1) Well just I really...need an award.

I'm still just baffled that it took me asking what it was in order to be able to do it because I still am 98% sure that if I hadn't, we wouldn't have had a Senior Skit. Of course what can you expect from the class that let the X-Factor student section go to crap and elected a class president who doesn't even want to pay attention for five minutes of class, let alone DO anything for the school. Ugh...Frustrations. I wish I had graduated in 08 because my brother never cared about this stuff and it would've been nice to be in the last graduating class that didn't totally suck at this kind of thing. (09 was ok but 2010 is definitely where the ball droppage started to occur as we began the influx of the douchewagons that didn't care about anything)

Well any way there's my current pissiness for the evening. Later peeps.

April 13, 2011

blarghity blarghity blah

Uhhh yeah. SO!

There's just been stuff and things that I'm trying to sort out. I'm kinda goin for a reconstruction of my self but really It's more of a matter of getting my crap together and trying to find the person I was last year. It's kind of a weird thing to say but I feel as though I've acted differently since I turned 18 (it wasn't instant, just an evolution over a year) and become someone I'm not a big fan of again. I guess I just need to be more conscious of myself. Heck I dunno.

The revue is coming up here in three weeks. We still haven't auditioned due to sheer lack of time/ a lot of stuff being one big clustereff this year due to ice and teachers that don't really seem to care and student council members that don't keep anyone posted on things. I don't know what the deal is but I feel like there was more said about the Revue in the last couple years than this year. Meh. Maybe it's just me.

I also need a job. Mostly I just need money but a job gives you money sooo I need a job. Applyin to places and things and stuff and stuff and things. Baesler's I'm pretty sure is gonna take waaay too long (people tell me it took them 3 months to get hired, and time luxury which I do not have). I'd like to work at Dollar General in meadows since it's just right up the street but they never hire beyond the two people that work there (same with the Meadows Theater) so I guess I just need to look for another store job somewhere else. I had a good thing goin with KMart for a while, too bad it had to go and turn to utter $#*7 thanks to manager incompetency and one mistake I made (which was thinking the HR, Lisa, or Lisafer as she has been dubbed due to her devilish deviance, wasn't a lying biznitch) I just need something soon. It'd be nice to have a job before prom so I can have money for it. Guess we'll have to see.

And then there's just useless random crap. Band is ok. Rest of school is ok. Things and stuff. Spring time is here. It's kinda getting warmer except it seems like everytime I get the chance to do something it either rains or everyone else is busy (Deming Park is extremely boring when you're alone) things and stuff. Might try goin toward gettin mahself a new lady but we'll see how that pans out. (something tells me it'l take a while but isn't exactly ruled out in the realm of success yet. ultimately though it's not very high up on my list)

Weeeelllll that about sums it up. Snooch to the Nooch.

Genuinely good days

Today was one. Got a ps2, kingdom hearts 2, and a memory card for 50 bucks. relaxed for the most part of the day.

Then 6:45 came around...

...and Brittany came over! ^__^

March 29, 2011

Life is...pretty good. I gotta say.

Ok well I SHOULD be working on 1984 related things but well...I do my best work at 1 AM anyway. SO! Let's begin. Today Mr. Heath told me that he sees great things for me in the future. This really means a lot considering he's one of the people I respect the most and he's got a partial swath of my 'who i wanna be when i grow up' space. Needless to say, I kinda needed to hear something like that. I've been kinda down and blah as of late and that really picked me up.

Also I had a really great conversation with mr. Cody Pratt. It really made me remember/realize why he's been my bro these last four years and honestly I don't know what I'd do without him. He's one of the now extremely few people that I'm going to miss when I graduate and it makes me feel good to know that he's going to ISU and i'll get to see him every so often. I seriously haven't had that deep a conversation with any of my other friends save for maaaayyybee Kristan.

Also I may have developed a liking for a girl. Yeah, the guy who just said a few posts ago that the phrase "like" had no meaning to me anymore and that I was only able to be attracted. Well it goes like this. There's a girl that I liked a bit a few years ago by the name of Cheyanne. Her mom has cut my hair since I was like 5 so at least I've known her mom and aunt for like, forever (also her great grandpa is the pastor of the church I would go to if I actually went...yeah...ANYWHOZ!!). She's the first girl that I would actually skip school for haha. Seriously, she said she hurt her foot and that she didn't want to go to her IvyTech orientation alone and I offered to go with her providing nothing important was going on in my classes on wednesday. Really english would be the only thing and even then it's not on a reading day so I'm not sure if I'd miss anything.

Now HERE'S the kicker. (yep. there's always one. don't you know me by now?) So, since her mom's cut my hair for like, forevs. That means (cue thunder and bat sounds) my mom knows her too. My mom and her mom have been trying to hook us up for the longest time now which has dissuaded me from even giving the slightest hint of asking her out. Well mom...I might actually make you happy for once on the 'going out with the girl you want me to' front. I figure even if I do successfully ask out Cheyanne and get the ol' yessaroony, (yessaroony? meh...why not?) I kind of owe it to my mom for crushing her dreams of my unintention of dating miss brittany ferrahrah (I think she finally got the 'I don't wanna mess up the friendship' concept haha) Anyways it's late, I need a shower cuz imma sweaty fat guy, and I still have to print out pictures of Walt Disney and put DOWN WITH THE TRAITOR on them. Ahhh...George Orwell, you are most likely one of my favorite authors simply for the opportunities your novels present. (After all this isn't the one where a pig dresses up like Napoleon so I gotta do somethin!)

;)

Later Peeps.
